Buc-ee’s

There’s not much fun about the drive from Houston to Dallas. Actually, it’s probably among the least scenic 4-hour drives you can take in Texas. This changed a few years ago when Buc-ee’s opened it’s doors. With a vast offering of cowboy / western kitsch souvenirs, snacks, fudge, candied jalapeño dip and over 40 toilets, Buc-ee’s makes every other rest-stop gas station look like a joke. I don’t think i’ve stopped anywhere else since they’ve opened.

Patrick Kratz, Photographer

Patrick was kind enough to include me in an upcoming photo project. After the shoot, I took this photo of him with my Holga using his strobe. Check out his awesome work here: pKstudio Photography I was happy to learn that he still shoots a lot of film (including medium format) in addition to digital. Long live film!
